GEMAPI/MAEFP – Management of aquatic environments and flood prevention: a new skill set for municipalities and EPCI/PECLA
Law No. 2014-58 of January 27, 2014 promoting the modernisation of territorial public action and affirmation of metropolitan areas assigns, from January 1, 2016, a new skill set for municipalities and their public establishments for cooperation between local authorities concerning the management of aquatic environments and flood prevention. It introduces a new optional tax for operating this skill set and creates the public planning and water management bodies as a new operational structure in the landscape of water governance, alongside public river-basin territorial agencies.
HydroGaïa will address this current topic on May 27 and 28, 2015 during a series of conferences: the provisional programme for the conferences and the session dedicated to prevention and management of water-related risks will be available on line in early 2015 at www.hydrogaia-expo.com.
